| The Mini Enthusiasts Club (SINGAPORE) was
incorporated in 1993 by a few hardcore Mini owners, most of whom are
still members today, like Eric Tiong, Dr Roger Pang and Rene Gabriel
and Florence Tay.
We remain the only club for Mini enthusiasts that's registered
with Singapore's Registrar of Societies. Today we have about 45
registered members.
Back then, as it remains today, the MECS is a social club first,
car club second. Activities are planned to instill friendship amongst
like-minded people from all walks of life. And not just in Singapore.
Our frequent drives across to Malaysia have made us many friends
and a few associate members. One of the focus of the club is also
helping out the less fortunate. Many of our drives have benefitted
not only local charities but those in Malaysia as well as Thailand.
One of the greatest milestones of the MECS was the welcoming of
owners of the new MINI in 2002, and the first ever super long drive
we embarked on with both classic and new MINIs was to the Thai island
resort of Koh Samui in 2003. The tri-nations drive coincided with
the club's 10th Anniversary.
OK, enough of all that. Come join us as a member. Click
